How do I create a student or parent account in family portal?

When logged into your Family Portal account, go to the Profile tab. Check the Linked Portal Account email area for the email and type of account. Type P is Parent account and Type S is a student account. What if I already have a Student account in Family Portal? You will need to use a different email address and create a PARENT account.

How to contact SV portal?

If you are unable to access the SV Portal and are in need of a replacement wallet card, please contact the Central Office Front Desk at (724) 452-6040, ext. 1675, and one will be provided for you via U.S. Mail. Passwords and usernames cannot be supplied verbally over the phone.

What happens if a student does not have a bus badge?

If the student does not have their bus badge, they will need to wait to be the last student loaded as the driver will need to manually log them in and as this is a time consuming process, may cause a delay in the running of the route.

Can a guardian see a student's ridership?

Yes, guardians will be able to view a student’s ridership activity for the entire school year through the Parent Portal. If a guardian wants to review the daily history, it will take a minute from loading/unloading the bus for SMART tag to update its records due to network connectivity.

Do you need a smart tag for SVSD?

Yes. This is for safety and security, it will also ensure your student is on the right bus to/from school. Smart Tag Bus Badges are required for all bus riders. Contact SVSD Transportation office to ensure your student has a printed Smart Tag Bus Badge.
