District 54 does not provide child care services. However, on school days, child care is available before and after school at schools through programs provided by the Schaumburg Park District, the Campanelli YMCA and the Hoffman Estates Park District. Every year, District 54 welcomes hundreds of new families into our community and we are so excited for you to be a part of it. We hope to make this transition a simple and seamless one. Upon moving into the district, parents will need to register their students at their base schools. Upon receipt of gifted records from the previous school, District 54 will determine if a student is eligible for services or needs further assessment to determine eligibility. No outside private evaluations are accepted for any District 54 gifted service or programs.

Based on the current health and safety guidance from the Illinois Board of Education and Illinois Department of Public Health, District 54 is planning to open schools on August 16, 2021 with students attending in person five days a week.
District 54 provides free lunches and milk for those students unable to pay under the Illinois Free Lunch and Special Milk Programs. Children from households that meet federal guidelines are eligible for free lunch and milk. To receive free lunches and milk for your child, you must complete an application and return it to school. Applications for free lunch must be renewed each year.

Lincoln Prairie is the only District 54 school with children from kindergarten through eighth grade. Students are grouped in multiage classrooms, working with teams of teachers on integrated curriculum. Project Development Time, in which students choose learning projects offered by staff, is a popular option.
Campanelli Elementary School: (847) 357-5333. Campanelli, in Schaumburg, offers a Mandarin Chinese immersion program for students in kindergarten through sixth grade. The goal of this program is for students to communicate effectively in Chinese while developing a deep understanding of the Chinese culture.
Dooley Elementary School: (847) 357-6250. Dooley, in Schaumburg, hosts the Japanese-English Dual Language Program and Early Instrumental Music Program (EIM). Students have the option of learning Japanese and English together in this setting. In addition, early instrumental music (violin) is available to primary students at Dooley.
