Innovation School Plan

Discovery Middle is partnering with other stakeholders to integrate the arts into all content areas. According to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, arts integration is defined as, "an approach to teaching in which students construct and demonstrate understanding through an art form.

February is CTE Month

February is national Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month. It gives programs the platform and opportunity to demonstrate ways in which CTE contributes to college and career readiness and prepares students for high-wage, high-demand career fields. DMS students are headed to state for MATHCOUNTS

We held our online competition last week Thursday. Discovery Middle School will now be sending 6 students to state on March 11 and March 12!

Track meeting for the upcoming season..

There will be a track meeting for 6-8th grade students interested in participating in track this year on Wednesday, March 9th in the media center at 2:45.

Spring activities are right around the corner..

DMS spring activities will be starting up soon. A list of spring activities can be accessed by clicking this link . Students must be registered in order to participate in activities. You may access the online registration at this link. A reminder that students need a physical every three years in order to participate.

LOST AND FOUND TABLES ARE OUT..

We have placed lost and found items on tables by the cafeteria, please check it out and if you see an item that is yours that you have been missing, please claim it.

ABOVE AND BEYOND Information

Above and Beyond is an afterschool program that provides a quiet environment with school staff in attendance to support and assist students with schoolwork. Above and Beyond will be in the Discovery Middle School media center on

Cardinal Weights

Cardinal Weights (after school weight room) will take place every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:15-4:00. If you are interested in Cardinal Weights, you must sign up with Linda Koep in the main office prior to joining.

Admissions

We are currently accepting applications for rising 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students for the 2021-2022 school year. Applications may be done via our online system or via paper.
