Is South Glens Falls in full use of the parent portal?

A. South Glens Falls is presently phasing in full use of the Parent Portal. The assignments listed on the Parent Portal may not reflect all assignments for the quarter. Please remember that any grades reported in the portal are grades in progress—the only official grades are those on report cards sent home at the end of each quarter.

Can a parent access information for all their children with SchoolTool?

A parent can access information for all of their children with one SchoolTool account. For example, a parent with students at Ballard, Oliver W. Winch Middle School and South Glens Falls High School can see all of their children via one account. Q.

What do I do if I have problems registering for the parent portal?

If you have problems registering for the Parent Portal, please contact us by email at ParentPortal@sgfcsd.org. Requests will be processed as quickly as possible and may take up to one week.

SchoolMessenger

SchoolTool Parent Portal

The SchoolTool Parent Portal is a web-based portal that will enable parents to view student information, such as emergency contact information, schedule, attendance, report cards and assignments/grades (for secondary students). We hope the portal will improve communication between the classroom and the home.

What documents are needed for a parent to register for a new home?

Parent/guardians in possession of academic or medical records should present them at the time of registration. Two proof of residency documents are required. These documents must include the name and address of parent or legal guardian. Acceptable documents include: Executed Lease Agreement.

What happens if a child is in a buffer zone?

If a student resides in a buffer zone, your child will be assigned to another elementary school within the school district based on class enrollment size.

What languages does ParentVue work in?

ParentVUE is available in six languages: Arabic, Chinese, English, Spanish, Tagalog, and Vietnamese. You may change the language to your preferred language. If using the ParentVUE mobile app, click "Current Language" and select your preferred language before logging in.

Do I need to activate my SFUSD account each year?

Once you activate your account, you can use that log in throughout your student's SFUSD schooling. No need to activate each year.

PowerSchool Parent and Student Portal

The PowerSchool portal will provide parents and students with easy access to:

Parent Access

Contact your child's school to have your parent account created. You will need to provide them with your student (s) names and a valid email address for your portal account.

Student Access

Students use their district Google account to login to PowerSchool. Student can access their student portal through their ClassLink or click Student Sign-In at gcsd.powerschool.com.

Sequence of Events

  1. Contact District Registrar for an appointment.
  2. Pre-register online (click here for pre-registration form) and print other required forms. (You will need one set for each child you are registering.)
  3. Forms must be printed and completed before your appointment.
  4. Bring all required documentation, as listed above, to your appointment.
