How do I create a Parent Portal account?

Contact your child's school to have your parent account created. You will need to provide them with your student (s) names and a valid email address for your portal account. Once the school has created your account, you will login at gcsd.powerschool.com. Already have an active parent portal account?

What can the PowerSchool Portal do for me?

The PowerSchool portal will provide parents and students with easy access to: and many more features to help bring you a better education experience. In order to access the portal, all parents/guardians will need portal accounts. For help with this process, please refer to the steps listed below.

What's new in the parent portal?

The Parent Portal has 2 new features available: If your account has been LOCKED, the Schooltool parent portal system will automatically UNLOCK your account after 15 minutes. If you do not remember your password, click on the “New User or Forgot Password” link.

How do I login to the PowerSchool mobile app?

Download the PowerSchool Mobile App for iOS or Android. A district code will be required, which is FBCT. You will then login with your username (email address) and the password given to you by the school. **NOTE: You cannot complete Online Registration on the mobile app. Login at gcsd.powerschool.com.

How to Register Your NEW STUDENT at GCSSD

Current students should not use this system. Returning students will register through the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Contact the school to see if they have scheduled new student enrollment registration days during the summer. If they do not, schedule a time to come to the school and start the registration process.

How to Register Your RETURNING STUDENT at GCSSD

Log into your PowerSchool Parent Portal account via the website link below or launch the app on your phone: https://gcssd.powerschool.com/public/home.html If you have signed in and created an account previously, please use the information you created to sign in.

1. What is my username?

Your username is your full email address provided to us at the time you enrolled for a new parent portal account.

2. How do I change my username or contact information?

Please contact your child’s school directly so they can make the necessary updates.

3. Need a parent portal account?

Please fill out the “Parent Portal new enrollment form” on the top right-hand side of this page.

What is a classlink email?

Classlink - used to access online textbooks, assessment websites, etc. Office365 Tools - used to access the Microsoft office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc) Outlook Email - 2-12 grade have a GCSSD email. Students can only email other @gcssd.org emails.

What is a schoology?

Schoology is like a teacher's website or an extension of their classroom online. Announcements, special dates, pictures, newsletters, discussions, lessons, videos, etc. could all be on a teacher's Schoology page.

What is a Gibson County Special School District account?

All students PreK-12 grade are provided a Gibson County Special School District account. The provided account is safe and secure and allows students to connect to various programs and instructional materials needed throughout their learning journey. This account gives them access to the following programs:
