How does Workforce Solutions Panhandle help pay for child care?

Workforce Solutions Panhandle uses local, state and federal funds to help low to moderate-income families pay for child care so they can work, attend school or training. Families must meet federal and state guidelines in order to qualify for child care assistance. Child Care Services is currently on a waitlist for new enrollments.

To provide a community resource for child care needs. Services are available and provided within the 26 counties in the Panhandle region of Texas. To be eligible, applicants must meet certain requirements and income guidelines.

Workforce Solutions Panhandle Child Care Services (CCS) helps low to moderate-income families with assistance in paying for child care while parents work, attend school, or participate in a training program as they become more self-sufficient. CCS also supports child care providers through quality improvement projects.

Who must have primary custody of the child?

The parent/guardian applying for services must have primary custody of the child (ren) needing services. If the applicant is in loco parentis; not the natural parent, adoptive parent, stepparent or legal guardian, the in loco parentis applicant will need to include additional documentation.

Who are household members?

Household members include those that live in the household: parents, step-parents, adult dependents, and a child or other minor living in the household who is the responsibility of the parent.

Eligibility criteria to receive Child Care Services (CCS) include: Must be Employed/Participate in an Educational Program and/or Job Training.
