When did Mumford ISD become independent?
The school became an Independent School District on March 16, 1925, and served primary and elementary grade levels. It was not until 1999 that Mumford ISD started the Mumford High School and we have not stopped growing since then.
When was Mumford Independent School District founded?
Mumford Independent School District history began in 1916 when the first school was started by Lillian Collier. The wife of a prominent local land owner and a Baylor University graduate, she started teaching and began what today is a proud tradition here in the Brazos Valley.
What are the requirements for a Mumford Independent School District?
All students will be provided the opportunity to develop the ability to think logically, independently, and creatively, and to communicate effectively. Mumford Independent School District will provide opportunities for all students to develop self-esteem, respect for others, and responsible behavior. The Mumford Independent School District believes that all students can learn the necessary basic skills to be independent and productive citizens.
