What happens to my MSU Portal account when I graduate?

Your MSU Portal account is still active. You can use your MSU Portal login to access your student email and records. IMPORTANT! Portal logins are deactivated one year after your graduation so please set your @my.msutexas.edu email account to FORWARD to another email address when you graduate.

How do I Change my Password in the parent portal?

Enter your Parent Portal User ID (email address) and the password that you previously created. The password should never be shared. All pages are personal and confidential. If you suspect that someone else may know your password, use the Change Password option to change your password after logging in. Having trouble logging in?

How do I Check my MSU application status?

Portal Logins: Newly Admitted Students who do not yet have a portal login can still check application status by visiting the Admissions Banner Login Website. Now that you have been admitted to MSU, we want to make sure you are able to take care of the other tasks with ease. Please refer to the Freshmen Checklist for important items.

How do I login to MSU WebWorld to view official transcripts?

WebWorld PIN Login: Students who graduated from MSU before April 2012 or graduated more than one year ago can login to MSU WebWorld using their Mustangs ID Number and PIN to request official transcripts and view other information. If you do not remember your Mustangs ID or PIN please visit this page.

When did the Webworld portal come online?

The portal system came online April 2012 so you do not have a portal login. Please use WebWorld to access your student records (see instructions below).

How do I get started with Navigate?

Download Navigate for free in the App Store or Google Play by searching for “Navigate Student.” Use your same username and password that you use for your my.msutexas.edu account. Students, faculty and staff can also log-in through the myMSUTEXAS portal.

What do I do if my app is frozen or acting weird?

Try a hard close and relaunch the app. For iOS, double click the Home button then swipe the app preview away to “hard close.” On Android, open the app manager view and slide the app preview away to “hard close.”

How do I change my notification settings?

Click the More tab. There’s a link called Notification Settings where you can personalize your notification preferences.

How can I help students to access Navigate?

Students can access Navigate Student using their my.MSUTEXAS.edu login via a web browser or download the app to their mobile device. If you're an Advisor, check with your students during your meetings to make sure students know what Navigate is, and how to access it. Here are a few other ways to help spread the word!

How can my department get our news and resources added to Navigate?

W e have a form available for you to share your information; please submit items at least one week prior to the event or deadline. Click here to submit items for Navigate Student.

Is the Early Alert system changing?

Until we have the majority of our faculty and student services staff trained and using Navigate Student, we will continue to use the current reporting system for Student Alerts. Do you have a student struggling with academics or attendance in class? If so, please fill out this student alert form, and the TASP office and/or the Student Rights and Responsibilities will assist you.

Does MSU require a parent to complete FAFSA?

Upon receipt of the electronic results of the FAFSA application, the MSU Financial Aid Office (FAO) may require the student/spouse and/or parent (s) to complete additional forms. Some forms may be required if the student has been selected for 'Verification' or the FAO has identified a discrepancy on the application.
