Child abuse by school personnel and school volunteers violates this right and therefore is strictly prohibited. Parents who believe that their child has been abused by employees or volunteers of the district should immediately notify the building principal of their child’s school. The appropriate law enforcement authorities will be notified if there is reasonable suspicion that an act of child abuse has occurred. The parent of the alleged child victim will be promptly notified when someone other than the parent submits a report of alleged child abuse in an educational setting.
