What is the Kipona scholarship?

The Kipona Scholarship provides need-based financial assistance. The application process for the 2022-2023 school year is open to eligible students attending participating private schools in Hawai‘i.

What can the Parent Portal do for me?

The Parent Portal allows parents to better monitor their child's progress in school by providing Internet access to grades, attendance, discipline, academic history, graduation verification, and standardized test results in a secure password-protected environment.

How do I apply to be a vendor at Kipona Festival?

If you are interested in being a vendor at the 2022 Kipona Festival, please complete the appropriate application below and return by email to clranckcameron@harrisburgpa.gov by Friday, July 23. We will begin to send acceptance notices on Friday, July 16 so we recommend applying prior to that for best consideration on acceptance.

Join the City of Harrisburg for the 105th annual Kipona Festival! The 3-day event will feature food, fireworks, live music, Artist Market, Family Fun Zone, Native American Pow-Wow, Soul Smirk Fitness & Wellness Zone, biergarten, Dick Reese canoe & kayak races, wirewalkers and more.

When is Dick Reese Kipona race?

DICK REESE CANOE AND KAYAK RACES. The annual Dick Reese Kipona Canoe and Kayak Races will be held at the northern tip of City Island on September 6 at 10 am. The races have been modified to feature an 8-mile canoe and kayak race on the Susquehanna instead of the traditional canoe sprint races in identical 17-foot canoes.

Is Kipona Festival in person?

The 104th annual Kipona Festival has been modified to feature a combination of in-person and virtual activities. This decision was made to ensure the safety of the community, vendors and visitors during the evolving COVID-19 pandemic. We hope you enjoy these offerings and look forward to seeing everyone in-person next year when we return the entire festival to Riverfront Park and City Island.

Who founded Kamehameha schools?

Kamehameha Schools was founded by the will of Bernice Pauahi Bishop, the great-granddaughter of Kamehameha the Great.

Can a school collaborator advertise as a participant in KS?

Yes. The school collaborator may advertise they are a KS school collaborator participant, but cannot use the KS logo.

Is PKS waived for 2021-2022?

We have waived PKS parent quarterly requirements (PQRs) for all quarters of the 2021-2022 school year. Families do not need to complete or submit service hours or attendance requirements in the Ho‘oulu Kaiāulu Parent Portal (HKPP) in order to maintain their keiki’s PKS scholarships for the 2021-2022 school year.

Does PKS cover summer school?

No. The PKS award will not cover for kindergarten summer school and the PKS award will be terminated. Keiki must be enrolled in preschool summer school to receive assistance.
