Students Invent Games that Make Learning Fun

It has been fun and games lately in Marilyne Strang’s first-grade class at FGL, with students creating and playing their own board games, an activity that reinforces ELA and math skills, as well as social skills and communication.

District to Distribute COVID-19 Test Kits

New York State has provided the Hendrick Hudson School District with COVID-19 tests for all students and staff. Tests will be distributed this week, and it is recommended that students are tested on Sunday, February 27, before returning to school following the break.

Pen Pal Project Connects Students Ahead of Princeton Plan

The Pen Pal Project is a fun-filled initiative that is helping Hendrick Hudson’s K-5 students build new connections with others in the same grade ahead of next year’s implementation of the Princeton Plan. The activity is also helping fifth graders feel more comfortable with their transition to middle school.

Free COVID-19 Testing Available at Westchester County Center

Westchester County, in partnership with Quadrant Biosciences, is offering free saliva-based PCR COVID-19 testing. Testing is available Monday through Friday at the Westchester County Center in White Plains and is open to everyone.

These special professionals perform a variety of essential roles in our schools, working as bus drivers, school nurses, custodians, secretaries, food service workers, teaching assistants and aides, and other key roles.
