Why did Grayson County schools open the parent portal?

Grayson County Schools reserves the right to deny or cease access to the Parent Portal due to the abuse of the portal, court orders, or any other legal proceedings that limit the availability of private educational data. Grayson County has opened the Parent Portal to enhance communication between the district and parents/guardians.

The Grayson Technical Education Program opened in 2004 in a building that was constructed adjacent to Grayson High School. Grayson Tech serves Juniors and Seniors from all Gwinnett County high schools.

ACCEPTABLE USE AND SAFETY POLICY

Grayson County Schools uses Infinite Campus for student information management. Infinite Campus has developed a parent portal tool to allow parents/guardians to view the records of their child (ren) via the Internet.

PURPOSE

Grayson County has opened the Parent Portal to enhance communication between the district and parents/guardians. Users of the Parent Portal will have access to the following information about their children:

Access to the Parent Portal on the school district’s system is a privilege, not a right. By activating the parent portal account and accessing the parent portal with this account, you agree to the acceptable use policy. Users of the Parent Portal are required to adhere to the following guidelines:

DATA INTERPRETATION INSTRUCTIONS

The data you will see in the Parent Portal is extracted from the Infinite Campus Student Information System. Each area of data is updated on different schedules. Please review the following to become familiar with the Parent Portal data expectations.

DATA CONCERNS

Concerns about the data you find on the portal should be addressed to the secretary or principal in your child’s building.

The second semester is off to a great start! It's hard to believe that we are half way through this school year, and all that comes with the spring semester is upon us. I know that you are all faithfully working through your content and beginning to feel the sense of urgency that comes with the anticipation of spring testing.

Early Childhood Spotlight

Through the use of ESSER funds to the parish, we were able to add a class at Kelly Early Childhood Center so that we can serve more families in Caldwell Parish. Students began on January 4 and are so excited to be in “school”!

Bubba Tucker prepares two of his welding students for competition this Spring while others complete welding projects for certification.

Technology Update

E-Rate filing for FY 2022 is beginning now. We will continue under our existing contract with our ISP, Skyrider, for internet service. We will file for funding to rebuild networks at GES and UCES.
