Is GSM a K-5 school?

German School Manhattan is an international independent Kindergarten & Lower School. GSM is the first bilingual English-German school in the borough of Manhattan and will grow one grade per year into a full K-5 program. The Tribeca location is well situated, surrounded by parks and playgrounds and easily accessible by the Chambers Street station (A,C, 2, 3) and City Hall station (R and W). GSM is currently enrolling grades K-3. Students without prior knowledge of German language are encouraged to apply.

Is GSM open in person?

GSM has been open for in-person learning since Sept 8th 2020. Due to the ongoing pandemic, opening hours have been slightly reduced and students learn in dedicated grade pods. Where is GSB located?

We currently offer education for Lower (K-5) and Middle School (6-8). GSB is offering the IB MYP for grade 9 for the first time this year! GSB's interim building is located at 9 Hanover Place in downtown Brooklyn. The new permanent home of GSB is under construction and set to open in 2022 at Rogers Ave & Sterling Place in Crown Heights.

Is GSB open to non-German speakers?

GSB is open to non-German speakers. Open House events available for Lower, Middle and High school. GSB is open for in-person learning at 40 Brevoort Place in Clinton Hill/Bedford-Stuyvesant. Please visit the apply page. See what else is happening at GSB!
