How long is a recreational dance class?

Adult. Our adult recreational dance class is an hour and a half combination of hip hop, tap, and yoga. Each style of dance typically gets 30 minutes every week.

What is jazz dance?

Jazz. In jazz class, dancers will continue working on their jazz style, as well as leaps/turns/strength/flexibility. Jazz class is typically an upbeat form of dance. This class will include isolated movements, precise leg, arm, and foot movements, jumps/leaps and turning. It is definitely an energetic style of dance!

What do dancers learn in musical theatre?

Dancers will learn about different Broadway musicals and dance to the songs and in the various styles that each musical embodies.

Why is dance important for kids?

Dance is a great way to build confidence in a child, inspiring them to be themselves. Whether they decide they are a tapper, a contemporary lover, or a ballerina; the Evolution Dance Complex family can help them grow their passion and become confident in themself.

When do competition dancers audition?

All competition dancers audition in May and have a year-long commitment to their technique classes and dances which they will compete with. The dances are choreographed in August/September and compete 3-5 times depending on the team.

At EDC, teaching the life-long skills of commitment and teamwork is so important . All of our dancers are truly like family. As they get older and more advanced, being part of company is a great way to build on these important skills while continuing to push dancers to be their personal best.
