How to visit EMU?

There are so many great ways to visit EMU right now. Take a tour, speak with an admissions counselor, and meet with a financial aid representative on campus or from the comfort of your own home.

What is EMU financial aid?

EMU offers a wide variety of financial assistance for which you may qualify. The Net Price Calculator will give you information about the amount and type of financial assistance you may be eligible to receive for the 2021-2022 academic year.

August 27–29, 2021

EMU Connect, formerly known as First Three, will be an adapted virtual model with limited in-person elements. Visit the Orientation website to view the full EMU Connect schedule.

September 24-26, 2021

Families will be able to explore both our campus and the greater Ypsilanti community during their visit.

Staying in touch

Your student may be living miles from home as they attend classes at Eastern, but you can still send a "care package" any time—and students love receiving them!

Find Answers to Your Questions

Parents may often have questions about how to navigate to information. Below find some links to help you understand the answers to some common questions.

Our Staff

Our professional staff are licensed and experienced mental health professionals. In addition, clients may be seen by post-doctoral trainees, post-master's trainees and graduate students from the departments of psychology, social work and leadership and counseling while supervised by professional staff. Meet our staff.

Services

Only students enrolled half-time or more at EMU are eligible for services at CAPS. Therapy services are free of charge, however if your student is seeking medication, they may need to employ insurance. We provide short term treatment, with a maximum of 12 sessions per academic year.

Confidentiality

As a parent, it's understandable that you would want to know about the services your child is receiving. However, confidentiality in the mental health arena is a professionally and legally complex issue. Treating information confidentially means not releasing it to anyone outside of CAPS without written consent, including parents.

Additional Resources

We have many self-help articles for students to read, but here are a few that may be of interest for parents.
