Can an out of State student apply to Cosmos?

Students who are not residents of California may apply, COSMOS can admit up to 20 out-of-state students each summer. Please contact the Statewide COSMOS office with questions about student residency status for application purposes.

Why choose Cosmos?

Through challenging curricula that are both hands-on and lab intensive, COSMOS fosters its students’ interests, skills, and awareness of educational and career options in STEM fields. Students apply to one of the four University of California’s COSMOS campuses — UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC San Diego and UC Santa Cruz.

Will Cosmos be held in-person?

COSMOS is anticipated to be held in-person in the Summer of 2022 – subject to emerging campus guidance. All COSMOS students will be required to comply with the UC COVID-19 Vaccine Policy. As part of the policy, students will need to show proof of full COVID vaccination.

What are the financial aid requirements for Cosmos?

Financial aid application, including tax return cover sheet or TANF (no social security numbers), must be completed with the admission application. Upon admission, each campus requires several documents to attend COSMOS. These include official transcripts, waivers, permission slips, medical information, etc.
