How to inform parents of school absence?

If parents plan to be away from home for any length of time, please inform the Primary or Senior Office via email. Particularly in the Primary School, it is helpful to know who is collecting your child if there is a change in routine. If both parents are away it is vital that we receive written confirmation of dates and the name and contact details of the person who will be the acting parent, prior to your departure. This person will be the school’s point of contact in the event of an accident or emergency within school and will be expected to make decisions on your behalf.

What is BSM uniform?

BSM has a simple uniform , which changes slightly in style as pupils move through the school. Our uniform encourages a sense of belonging and pride in our students. All students from Foundation Stage to Year 11 wear school uniform. Sixth form students must follow the Sixth Form dress code.

What is Parent Portal?

Parent Portal not only monitors your student's attendance (at the elementary level) and academic progress through the internet, it will also be the site where you locate documents, register students in school, and update demographic information. Once your account is set-up, it will be available every year with the username and password you created. Student Portal allows students in grades 6-12 view their grades/attendance.

How do I create a Parent Portal account?

After new students have gone through residency verification, parent will go to their oldest student's school to register. They will be provided with a letter to create an account for their student.

Where can I find my fee balance in Parent Portal?

You can view your fees and even print a statement by selecting Balance from the left navigation window. By selecting View Fee Statement, it will show a printer friendly document with all fees listed. Unfortunately, fees are not displayed on the PowerSchool Parent Portal App.

Is there a browser I should use to fill out Forms for Enrollment Express?

Chrome and Firefox are the recommended browsers. Internet Explorer and Safari will not work.

How long does it take to get a return email from BSSD?

Email BSSD SCHOOL PARENT with your current student information and we will link your new student to your previous account. Please allow 48 hours (M-F) for a return email.

Is student portal the same as 365?

Student permissions are no longer required through Student Portal. Your student's portal account username will now be the same as their 365 log on name without the extension @bssdstd.net. So, for John Doe, the username would be j.doe. The password is their lunch number. If you want to see what your student's 365 log on is, you can log into Parent Portal and go to the Balance screen and it displays under locker information.

Can progress reports be emailed to me?

For secondary the answer is Yes! Go to Email Notification, select the reports you would like to receive, frequency, any additional e-mails, and Submit.

What do parents need to enroll their child in school?

All parents/guardians must present the following items to enroll their child for school: the child’s birth certificate, immunization records, and proof of residency. The proof of residency can be a utility bill (not a cell phone bill), but the address reflected must match the student’s home address.

How to find your neighborhood school in Bartholomew?

All students enrolling in the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation must initially enroll at the neighborhood school that is determined by proof of residency of their parent or legal guardian. A. Call the Transportation Office (376-4246) with your address to find your neighborhood school and its location.

What happens if a parent fails to inform the Corporation of the expulsion or withdrawal?

If a student's parent fails to inform the Corporation of the expulsion or withdrawal to avoid expulsion or the student fails to follow the terms and conditions established for enrollment, the Corporation may withdraw consent and prohibit the student's enrollment during the period of the actual or proposed expulsion.

When should parents be notified of bullying?

The parents of the targeted student and the reported bully shall be notified of the alleged bullying incident at the beginning of the investigation, the findings of the investigation at the conclusion of the investigation, and, as appropriate, any remedial action that has been or will be taken to the extent disclosure is permitted by law. In addition to discipline, remedial action may include support services for the targeted student and bullying education for the bully, among other actions.

Who should report bullying to?

Any student who believes s/he has been or is currently the victim of bullying should immediately report the situation to the building principal or assistant principal or the Superintendent. The student also may report concerns to a teacher or counselor who will be responsible for notifying the appropriate administrator or Board official. This report may be made anonymously. Complaints against the building principal should be filed with the Superintendent or designee. Complaints against the Superintendent should be filed with the Board President. A parent may file a complaint on behalf of a student in the same manner.

Who fills out a request for student enrollment?

A Parent or legal guardian must fill out a request for student enrollment by transfer tuition. This form will be forwarded to the school you wish to enroll for the Principal and Superintendent’s approval. Upon approval or non-approval you will be notified by mail. VII.

Do you have to report bullying to the school?

Every student is encouraged, and every staff member is required, to report any situation that they believe to be bullying behavior directed toward a student. Reports may be made to those identified above. Staff members who fail to report bullying or who fail to conduct an investigation when assigned that duty are subject to disciplinary action, up to and including discharge.
