BISD Partners with Education Foundation to Provide School Supplies for Students

The Brownwood Education Foundation has partnered with BISD to fund the project. "BEF and BISD have been talking about it for several years," said Liesa Land, BISD Deputy Superintendent, "so this year we just reached out and asked them. Parents will only be asked to send the two to three things on the school supply list.

STAAR Scores Accessible Through TEA Online Student Portal

STAAR scores may be accessed on an online student portal created by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Log in to the student portal at www.texasassessment.com to view your child’s STAAR scores and access additional resources.

Brownwood Middle School (BMS) held its annual end-of-year awards ceremony on Thursday, May 20. Students were recognized for academic achievement in a variety of categories for the 2020-21 school year.

Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium Assessments

The California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) computer adaptive assessments are aligned with the Common Core State Standards (CCSS).

California Science Tests (CAST)

The new, computer-based CAST measures student acquisition of the California Next Generation Science Standards. It is administered in grades five and eight, and once in high school. The new computer-based CAST replaces the California Standards Tests (CST) for Science.

California Alternate Assessments (CAA)

The computer-based CAA for ELA and CAA for mathematics is administered to students with the most significant cognitive disabilities in grades three through eight and grade eleven. Test items are aligned with the CCSS and are based on the Core Content Connectors.
